The reason for putting up a firewall is to prevent or slow down a fire from going through the wall.

The firewall on your router in your home is put there to prevent things like a virus or a worm from getting into your computer system.

If you have a very good firewall, you often cannot use video communication. Many devices like the Viable VPAD can make outgoing video calls, but when there is an incoming video call, it is sometimes unable to get through (or penetrate) the firewall.

The Z150 by ZVRS is a device that is especially designed to allow incoming calls to go through a firewall by using a proprietary feature called ZConnect. It is used in many governmental organizations as well as large corporations to allow deaf and hard of hearing employees in those organizations receive incoming calls.
